Rock Write & Record
Students write, arrange, record and perform an original song with their band
Through fun, game-based activities, kids learn the basic skills to play in a group and have a blast while doing it!
We have Rock Write Record bands for total beginners who want the opportunity to play a variety of instruments (we call those “exploration” bands), as well as bands for students who take private lessons on an instrument and want to play that same instrument in band (we call those “position” bands).
Community is the core value of Brooklyn Music Factory and the driving engine behind our curriculum. Why? Because we believe it’s that dynamic group setting that makes music so joyful.
Playing with other musicians not only gives each student a new perspective on their own instrument, but shows them how their part fits into the whole to create a song.
Playing music as a group teaches kids how to listen to others and in the process, themselves.

BMF Classes are Inspired: Never Repetition Based or Boring!!
Cost: $153/month/musician for band only (FD $145.35)
$130/month/musician for band if enrolled in private lessons at BMF (FD $123.50)
Students in Rock Write Record and GirlPop bands usually have some experience under their belts—(although beginners are welcome!) – and are starting to gravitate to an instrument (or instruments!) of focus. These bands work on a couple of songs at a time (one cover and one original) as students start digging deeper into songwriting and arrangement.
6 Reasons Everyone Needs to Play Music
What BMF Parents Are Saying
“The teachers are so engaged and enthusiastic and Maggie loves the music she plays.”
-A Rock, Write & Record Mom
“My daughters go there after school. These classes are her favorites. The look in their eye before and after the class is the kind of feedback from a kid that parents live for. I just hope they remember who I am when they become rich, famous and destroy hotel rooms!”
-A Rock, Write, & Record Mom
“Together my family is being inspired to be lifelong learners, practicers and players and that is so exciting.”
– A BMF Dad
