After-School Lessons and classes
At Brooklyn Music Factory, we learn music through songwriting, games, and making music with others. Learn an instrument in a group class or a private lesson, write and play original songs with a band, or both. Regardless, students develop the skills and confidence they need to make, share, and enjoy music with other people—for a lifetime. We are a community of music lovers—and believe learning music can and should be fun, creative, and inspiring. Ages 4-Adult.
Camps
At Brooklyn Music Factory day camps, kids ages 4-11 join bands and spend their days writing songs, playing music games, and getting creative in our fully equipped studios. We also go to the neighborhood park every day to enjoy free play and physical activity and, at the end of each day or week of camp, kids perform their original songs for each other on our in-house stage. The shows are live-streamed and recorded for friends and families to enjoy. Plus, we have a Counselor-In-Training program just for music-loving middle schoolers!

We’ve had such a great experience at BMF, my daughter has strengthened her confidence with her voice lessons, she loves it. BMF is the best thing that ever happened to my son, Christopher!!! He loves it so much! He is always excited to go for any occasion. It fosters an environment of kindness, friendship and comradery. This is a place for budding musicians that are internally driven by their love of music and the joy they get from developing their skills and collaborating with others. Our multi-instrument musician has been taught and mentored by BMF for almost 10 years.Posted on Tata WetzelTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Extremely nice group, my son Harrison is 6 years old he was very shy kid since we started coming here he became so open sings everywhere and dance. Everyone is very happy and positive, vibe is uplifting. Highly recommend anyonePosted on LoriTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. We just picked our kiddo (4 year old) up from his second day of Spring Break camp at BMF. Yesterday he said it was the best camp ever. I wanted to make sure before I shared my review, so I asked again today, and he said he had even more fun! We have been a BMF family for many years with my older kids (and have only great things to say about the music lessons!), but this is our first round of camp with a little one. He tends to be shy and anxious to try new things, but he said he loved the teachers and he made friends. He has been humming his original song all afternoon, and his only complaint is that eventually we have to go back to school and cannot go back to camp until this summer. I love the flexibility they offer in scheduling and that they spend time outside. He is happy and tired at the end of the day...I cannot ask for more than that!Posted on Lynn DoanTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. We took our daughter here for a single-day song-writing camp and she had an absolute blast. We worried about whether she’d feel alone since she went in not knowing anyone else and having never stepped foot in the music factory. But she eased right in.Posted on Matthew LowenTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Our kiddo LOVES Brooklyn Music Factory. The counselors are fun, knowledgeable, and bring out the best in the kiddos. The livestreams of their performances is brilliant. It's been wonderful to see our kiddo grow in their music making and confidence at all the same time. Thanks BMF!!

About Us
Songwriting, music games, and playing music together are at the heart of everything we do at Brooklyn Music Factory.
Founded in 2010 by Nate Shaw and Peira Moinester—two Brooklyn parents, musicians, and long-time educators—we began as a gathering spot for local families to come to learn and make music together. Today, we continue to offer private lessons, group classes, camps, parties, and special events at our Gowanus studios—and have expanded to also offer online lessons to students across the United States, and curriculum licensing and training to music schools and teachers around the country.
Learning music can—and should—be fun, creative, and inspiring. Our goal is to spread that joy far and wide.
