All About High School Auditions: How to Prepare and What to Expect

Are you considering a specialized high school for instrumental or vocal music?

Thinking about auditioning for LaGuardia, Murrow or another performing arts high school? Nate Shaw, co-founder of Brooklyn Music Factory will lead an hour long workshop for parents and students that will cover:

  • What to expect in your audition
  • How to better prepare for the audition
  • Tips and Tricks on presenting yourself effectively
  • What NOT to expect at the audition
  • A Q&A with current students at performing arts high schools (both vocal and instrumental)

This is absolutely FREE and open to the public (so bring a friend!). All attendees will leave with an audition one sheet + a link to download exercises that mimic the audition. Your child will get to go home with exercises that, if played regularly leading up to their audition date, may radically improve their chances of entering the audition feeling comfortable and ready to execute at their highest level.

Wednesday, February 12 • 6:00pm • Open to the public (Please RSVP)

"Last night was seriously one of the most amazingly helpful presentations I’ve ever seen, experienced or dreamed of about kids and school! You really outdid yourselves in terms of the whole format, the kids, everything. Bravo!!!"

- Elizabeth Kenny (mom of an 8th grader)
