Only have 15 minutes? Here’s a great practice routine from Nate, one of Brooklyn Music Factory’s founders:
Set a timer! 5 – 5 – 5.
- 5 Minutes of warming up (technique).
- 5 Minutes of focused practice – Working on one section that is just beyond reach for you.
- 5 Minutes of song work. Add what you just worked on to the rest of your song (this should feel easier than the previous 5 minutes.
The key: No matter how well it’s going, when the timer goes off, you gotta move on. Goal: Build lasting habits (and anyone can find 15 minutes!).
