Lesson Details

A Brooklyn Music Factory lesson revolves around a curriculum that promotes the whole musician in a game based, radically new approach to the traditional music lesson.  It’s primary goal is two fold: To give the student the tools needed to play music with others. And to motivate self exploration and build confidence through music.

The methodology draws on a myriad of proven lesson books as well as a number of exercises and texts created over the past 20 years by BMF founder, Nate Shaw. Benchmarks of success may be a student rocking a recently studied song with a faculty rhythm section or it may be completing a composition and performing it with other students at the final gig. Melody-Harmony-Rhythm-Technique-Creativity are addressed in every lesson in a fun and active way moving throughout the entire studio.
